Mary W. Jackson Elementary Bike Bus

Welcome to the Bike Bus page for Mary W. Jackson Elementary! Our Bike Bus started with a few parents biking to school and has since become a weekly tradition. Every Friday morning, we roll out together to provide a safe, healthy, and fun way to get to school.

About the Bike Bus

Each group of riders is led by chaperones to ensure safety and a smooth ride for everyone. These rides are a wonderful way for students and families to start their day with exercise, community, and a little adventure!

• When: Every Friday at 7:15 AM (unless otherwise noted).

• Where: Riders can join at any point along the route.

• Safety First: All participants must wear helmets, and we recommend adult chaperones for children in 2nd grade and under.

We’re also creating Walk Bus groups for students who prefer to walk to school. Walk Buses leave at the same time (7:15 AM on Fridays) and are a great alternative for families practicing healthy, sustainable habits. Check with your school’s PTA for route details!

Safety & Participation

This is a community-run initiative, and each family is responsible for their own safety. By participating, families acknowledge potential risks and assume responsibility for those risks.

Helmet Policy: All participants are required to wear a helmet while riding with the group.
Chaperone Recommendation: Children in 2nd grade and younger should have a designated adult accompany them. Older students are welcome to ride independently.
